Research Faculty / Postdoc Support
  • Purpose.
To provide a mechanism to make research faculty support more reliable; to support the development of new or expanded RSI research focus areas that will become self-supporting over time.

Support of the following types will be considered.

    • Research staff/research faculty ``bridging'' funding. This is meant to provide short-term continuation of support between periods funded by external grants. Requests should provide information on funding history and support for the expectation of additional funding in the near future, and clearly specify the period for which funding is requested.
    • New program development funding. This is meant to make it easier to hire new research staff or postdocs who are hired with the expectation that they will become self-supporting by submitting grant proposals as PI. Requests should be for a fraction (typically significantly below one-quarter) of total support.
