The request should fit into one of the following categories.

    1. Funding to support the development of an RSI-affiliated research project by a PI or group without previous RSI-affiliated funding.
    2. Funding to support the development and submission of a group proposal benefiting multiple RSI members (e.g., an IGERT or GAANN proposal, or a long-term, multi-investigator proposal).
    3. Funding to support the development of a new or offshoot research program by a currently active RSI group or PI.
    4. Funding to support a portion of the salary of a research faculty member who will teach a course supporting multiple RSI members' graduate programs.
    5. Other types of requests that support the purpose of this program will also be considered.

  • Application Procedure.

    • Title, timeline, and budget total.
    • Proposed activities and relationship to the purpose and categories listed above.
    • Expected outcome. Describe how this activity will lead to increased levels of research activities in the future, how it will benefit multiple RSI members, etc., as appropriate.

  • Expected Funding. One to 5 grants of $1,000 to $5,000 each.

(Please refer to RSI's overall budget plans for an estimate of the total amount to be awarded this year.)
